Senior Director, UBC Sustainability Hub, University of British Columbia

Linda Nowlan is the Senior Director, UBC Sustainability Hub. Previously she headed the Marine Program, worked as a Staff Lawyer at West Coast Environmental Law, and led WCEL as Executive Director. She was an adjunct professor at the Allard School of Law at UBC, and is a member of the IUCN Commission on Environmental Law and World Commission on Protected Areas. Linda also worked as Director, Pacific Conservation with WWF-Canada, as a Faculty Research Associate at the UBC Program on Water Governance, and as a litigation lawyer in Vancouver. Her advocacy has contributed to numerous law reforms and her publications focus on ocean, water and biodiversity protection law.
