Louise Laskey began her professional life as a teacher in rural and urban settings. She subsequently became a psychologist working with families and children. Having spent several years working in teacher professional development, she accepted appointments in the university sector.
Currently at Deakin University, Louise focusses on the preparation and post graduate education of early childhood, primary and secondary teachers (and other professionals), in areas such as behaviour guidance, special educational needs and child protection. She aims to develop teachers who have sensitivity, an advanced understanding of children's and families' needs, and constructive strategies for their engagement and support.
Louise is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, where she contributes to the professional learning of educational and developmental psychologists.
