María Celeste Wagner

Ph.D. Candidate in Communication, University of Pennsylvania

María Celeste Wagner is a Ph.D. candidate at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania and a doctoral fellow at the Center for Advanced Research in Global Communication at the same institution. Starting Fall 2022, she will be an Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism at the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida.

She received her bachelor's degree in Communication from Universidad de San Andrés in Argentina and a master's degree in Communication by the University of Pennsylvania.

From a mixed methods and comparative approach, she studies media reception and influence around political and social issues, particularly those related to intersecting gender inequalities in the Americas. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Digital Journalism, Journalism, the International Journal of Communication, and Media, Culture & Socitey.
