I have been writing and teaching about the importance of units and standards in food and agricultural sciences for the past 27 years, particularly in food processing operations. I am the author or co-author of 130 peer-reviewed papers where units, standards and measurements are important elements of the research, especially in acoustic and spectroscopic measurements of the properties of food and agricultural materials.
