Maryam holds a bachelor of science from the University of Toronto, where she double majored in Neuroscience and Biology, and a master of Kinesiology from McMaster University. Currently, she is a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Toronto with interests in exercise and health psychology. She is particularly interested in how body image influences and is influenced by women's exercise behavior. Alongside her academic work, Maryam also works as a fitness and nutrition coach, helping individuals in the general population to enact lasting lifestyle changes.
