Senior Lecturer in Geography, University of Manchester

Matthew Dennis is a Senior Lecturer in Geographical Information Science at the University of Manchester. His research focusses on social-ecological systems, nature recovery and spatial ecology. Matthew’s previous research has explored community-led ecosystem management (PhD) and green infrastructure impacts on human well-being (Post-doc). He currently leads (PI) research investigating the potential for riparian woodland regeneration to support nature recovery and climate change mitigation leading the NERC/ESRC/AHRC “CASTOR” project (Creative Adaptive Solutions for Treescapes Of Rivers) and contributes (CO-I) to “MEaSURE” a project designed to maximise ecosystem service delivery in urban areas through green infrastructure.
