Associate Professor Melanie Davern is Director of the Australian Urban Observatory at RMIT University. Her research interests focus on liveability, community and individual wellbeing with specific expertise in the development and use of indicators as a measurement tool for policy development, program evaluation and community engagement. Melanie has extensive expertise in the development and application of indicators for health, social and community planning, worked closely with a range of government and community partners and is passionate about the translation of research into policy and practice. Melanie is also an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Equity, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne.
