Philippe Tortell

I am a Professor of oceanography at the University of British Columbia, and Head of the Dept. of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences. I previously served as Director of UBC's Institute for Advanced Studies, where I worked to build strong inter-disciplinary collaborations across the University and Beyond. I am also deeply committed to public engagement on a range of important societal issues.
