Preety Pratima Srivastava

Senior Lecturer, RMIT University

Preety has a PhD in Econometrics from Monash University. She started her first full-time permanent academic post as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Economics, Monash University. She was promoted to Senior Research Fellow in 2010. She joined RMIT University in 2013.

Her research and publication interests have focused in applied microeconomics and econometrics, particularly in limited dependent variable models and their applications in areas such as recreational drug consumption, health and the labour market.

Preety has secured an ARC Discovery grant in 2013 along with a team of local and international researchers to study reporting behaviours and misclassification when using survey data. Prior to this, she was the co-recipient of an NHMRC Project grant to investigate harmful drinking and price response by alcohol types.
