Stephen Sigurdson Professor in Corporate Law & Finance, Queen's University, Ontario

-Inaugural holder since 2018 of Stephen Sigurdson Professorship in Corporate Law and Finance at Queen's University.
-Previously taught business law for over 25 years, including as an Adjunct Professor (and previously a Lecturer) in Business Law at McGill University's Faculty of Law and as a Lecturer at the University of Toronto Law School
-Co-author of three editions of leading Canadian text on Business Law (Yalden et al. Business Corporations: Practice, Theory & Emerging Challenges) and author of over 20 articles
-Previously a senior partner with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, practicing business law for 25 years in its Toronto & Montreal offices. Was a founding partner of the Montreal office and held a number of senior positions, including Co-Chair of the national Mergers & Acquisitions group for over a decade, Head of the Corporate Group in the Montreal office and Member of the Executive Committee.
-Former Supreme Court of Canada Law Clerk to Bertha Wilson (the first woman appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada) and former research assistant to the Chief Justice of Canada (retired) Brian Dickson
-Law degrees from the Universities of Oxford, Toronto and Montreal; undergraduate Honours degree in history and philosophy from Queen's University
