Research Fellow, Wits School of Public Health, University of the Witwatersrand

Dr Ryan Wagner is an NRF-rated epidemiologist who has training in neuroscience, epidemiology and health economics. Ryan attained a PhD in Medicine, with a Global Health focus in 2016. He has been based within the MRC/Wits Agincourt Research Unit in the Wits School of Public Health for the past 11 years, 10 of which he lived and worked at the rural Agincourt research site. In his role as a Research Fellow, Ryan supports ongoing population-based research focused on epilepsy, cognition and mental health as well as work with traditional healers.
