Samantha is a PhD Candidate at York University with research interests in safeguarding, safety in sport, risk/risk-taking, and sport policy. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with Psychology at Acadia University before completing a Master’s degree at Wilfrid Laurier University focused on injury rehabilitation psychology. Her doctoral dissertation aims to better understand how safety and risk are conceptualized, negotiated, and leveraged by various individuals involved in sport (from athletes to administrators). Yet, she is still passionate about injury rehabilitation psychology and applied sport psychology.
