Sherrill Stroschein

Dr. Sherrill Stroschein is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Politics in the Department of Political Science and Program Coordinator of the MSc in Democracy at University College London. She was previously an Academy Scholar at the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies and an Assistant Professor at Ohio University. Her publications examine democracy, democratic institutions, and the politics of identity in democracies with mixed ethnic or religious populations. Her work has appeared in Perspectives on Politics, Ethnopolitics, Nations and Nationalism, and Party Politics, among other journals. Her book Ethnic Struggle, Coexistence, and Democratization in Eastern Europe is forthcoming from Cambridge University Press, and she is the editor of the volume Governance in Ethnically Mixed Cities (Routledge, 2007).
