Senior Lecturer Politics, University of Manchester

Silke Trommer is Senior Lecturer in Politics at the University of Manchester. She is an international political economist specialising in international trade. Her research to date has focused on the dynamics of multilateral and bilateral trade negotiations, civil society participation in trade policy formation, and the interconnections between trade politics and trade law. She has published in World Trade Review, Review of International Political Economy, New Political Economy, Journal of Common Market Studies, the Journal of Development Studies, Globalizations and West European Politics, among others. She is co-editor (with Erin Hannah and James Scott) of Expert Knowledge in Global Trade (Routledge, 2015) and Transformations in Trade Politics: Participatory Trade Politics in West Africa (Routledge 2014).
