Stephanie Raymond

Sociology PhD Candidate, The University of Queensland

Stephanie is a second year Sociology PhD candidate, Research Assistant, tutor and guest lecturer at the University of Queensland. Having received UQ's School of Social Science John Western Award in recognition of her honours thesis examining sociocultural factors affecting suntan desirability in young Australian adults, she hopes to pursue a research career in Sociology of Health and Illness. Stephanie's doctoral project is focused on investigating user experiences of the injectable tanning agent Melanotan, marking the first qualitative study of its kind to approach the topic through a sociological lens.
