Steve Pinkerton is a scholar of modern literature and culture. His book “Blasphemous Modernism: The 20th-Century Word Made Flesh” (Oxford, 2017) shows how a shared commitment to blasphemy shaped the literature of modernist writers from James Joyce to Salman Rushdie. His other writings have appeared in academic journals such as Modernism/Modernity, Studies in the Novel, Paideuma, the Journal of Modern Literature, and the African American Review.
