My current research focusses on non-state actors in maritime security issues. I have a particular interest in problems surrounding irregular maritime migration; piracy; and illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. A large part of my research analyses, dissects and compares different agreements, conventions, regulations and policies in relation to maritime security that affect both the European Union and Australia.
I undertook research at the UN's International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London in 2015. I have been employed as casual academic within the Politics and International Studies discipline at the University of New England.
