William Isdale is a graduate of the University of Queensland, with degrees in Law and Arts (politics, philosophy). His research interests are in the law, moral philosophy and applied ethics, and their connection with the sciences.

William is currently a Research Assistant at Melbourne Law School and works full-time in the law. He is an occasional contributor to ABC Radio National.

He is a past President of the Australian Legal Philosophy Students' Association and former Editor of the Justice and the Law Society's journal, Pandora's Box. In early 2012 and 2014 he was a visiting student at Oxford University's Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics.
