Wim de Villiers

Rector and Vice-Chancellor of Stellenbosch University. Previously Dean of Health Sciences at the University of Cape Town. Obtained an MBChB and MMed(Int) from Stellenbosch, became a Fellow of the College of Physicians of South Africa as a Specialist in Internal Medicine, obtained a DPhil in Immunology from Oxford, and later an MHCM (Masters in Health Care Management) from Harvard University. Held various positions at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY, USA, for 18 years, including Head of Gastroenterology and Administrative Head of the Good Samaritan Hospital (UK HealthCare organisation).
