Bovine abortion could be prevented with a new vaccine

A breakthrough has been made towards finding a vaccine for an parasite known to cause bovine abortion.

Australian researchers from the University of Adelaide and The University of Technology Sydney discovered the vaccine, which targets the neospora caninum parasite.

Currently 5% of cattle abort due to this parasite. This vaccine will help the cattle industry worldwide to treat a very damaging and costly infection.
