Responding to outbreaks of deadly animal-borne diseases will be quicker and easier with the development of a new collaborative communications platform.
The system combines existing communications technologies – such as video cameras and the internet – and CSIRO-developed software to allow full HD video conferencing and real-time access to microscopy and other analysis tools across the web.
The platform will allow disease experts to collaborate in real-time with chief veterinary officers around Australia.
