Daredevil’s senses may be real for the blind

Blind people have the potential to locate objects using hearing, researchers at the University of Southampton have found.

The process, known as echolation, is similar to that used by bats and dolphins and echoes the abilities of the superhero played by Ben Affleck in 2003.

The researchers hope their findings will help develop training programs and assistive devices for the visually impaired.
