Dark side of the universe detected

Part of the invisible dark matter skeleton of the universe has been directly detected where more than half of all matter is believed to reside.

Cosmologists have theorised that dark matter undergirds filaments, which guide galaxies toward the gravitational pull of the massive clusters but had not been able to directly detected it.

The discovery confirms a key prediction in the prevailing theory of how the universe’s current web-like structure evolved.
