Heavy training loads increase chance of injury: NRL

A direct collation has been found between training load and injury in professional NRL players.

For the first time researchers have been able to connect an NRL athletes injury to the their training regime. Thigh, calf and groin were the most common areas of injury.

Injury was also linked with poor fitness and a low training load.
