Sub-Saharan African Network for TB/HIV Research Excellence (SANTHE)

SANTHE is an acronym for “SUB-SAHARAN AFRICAN NETWORK FOR TB/HIV RESEARCH EXCELLENCE” - a Sub-Saharan African network of African-led research in HIV (particularly acute HIV (AHI)) and Tuberculosis (TB) infection.

SANTHE aims to shape and drive locally relevant basic, clinical and translational research in Africa.

SANTHE currently combines 12 African sites with experience in research and training - with joint research programmes, training programmes and funding. As a result, the network possesses multidisciplinary expertise including microbiology, immunology, epidemiology, and clinical trials across all sites, allowing for a wealth of knowledge transfer. SANTHE also harnesses expertise and resources from strong collaborating international partners.
