People willing to pay more for green space

Members of the public are willing to pay more in housing payments or taxes to maintain and improve green space, according to a new study from the University of Sheffield.

People in Manchester and Sheffield were shown images of potential green development for local areas. People were willing to pay extra to maintain green spaces, support tree planting, and allow natural vegetation to re-establish itself. The greener the scenario was, the more people were willing to pay for it.
