The researchers analysed health data of more than 225,000 preschool-age children between 1999 and 2007. They found the rates of overweight and obesity had dropped by 3.1 per cent for three-and-a-half year olds (to 15.4%) and 1.1 per cent for two year olds (to 12.4%).
