Abbas Barzegar’s research areas include early Sunni-Shiite polemics, political Islam, and African American Muslim history. He is co-director of the After Malcolm oral history and archiving project. He is also co-director of the Civic Approaches to Conflict Resolution initiative. In addition to a number of articles and books chapters, he appears regularly in print and broadcast media to offer commentary and analysis on current events.
