Abigail A. Allen

Associate Professor of Special Education, Clemson University

Abigail Allen, Ph.D. CCC-SLP, earned her Ph.D. in special education at the University of Missouri. She is a nationally certified speech-language pathologist and has worked primarily with elementary-aged children with language and learning disabilities. Dr. Allen studies early writing assessment and intervention, curriculum-based measurement, data-based instruction, and incorporating technology into teacher preparation. In 2020 Dr. Allen received a 4-year $500,000 Early Career Development and Mentoring grant from the Institute of Education Sciences Research Training Program in Special Education (R324B200016). She is developing a sentence writing intervention for struggling learners in first and second grade.
