Abigail is Professor of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Lincoln (UK), where she holds positions in the Eleanor Glanville Centre and as Consultancy Lead in the College of Social Science. Abigail has over 15 years experience as an academic researcher and her expertise includes gender and women in the workplace, work-life balance, young people and social policy.

Abigail's recent research projects are about social housing pathways, whether flexible work arrangements really promote work-life balance for employees; women's recruitment, retention and progress in the construction industry; supporting young people within their families and communities to be socially and economically engaged; and understanding what it takes to work together and collaborate with others to create change for social purpose.

Abigail has a PhD in Social Sciences (Loughborough University), an MA in Research Methods (University of Nottingham) and BA (Hons) in Social and Political Studies (University of Sheffield).
