Vice Chancellor's Senior Research Fellow in Digital Living, Northumbria University, Newcastle

Adrian Clear is a Vice Chancellor’s Senior Research Fellow in Digital Living in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Northumbria University. He was previously a researcher at Newcastle University, Lancaster University, and Orange Labs, after completing his PhD in the Systems Research Group at UCD Dublin.

Adrian’s work takes a social practice-orientation to understanding how technology impacts everyday life, and how design might support and promote more sustainable ways of living. Empirically, his work covers various domains including thermal comfort, energy, and food, and involves qualitative and quantitative methods of enquiry, pervasive sensing, and digital technology design.
