Adriana is a Research Fellow at Queen's University Belfast. She holds a PhD from the University of Sheffield. Her dissertation aimed to expose the mechanism that leads to fragmentation of victims' organisations.

Human rights, supranational courts, especially the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, transitional justice policies and victims' participation in these, ethical issues when working with victims are all part of her research interests. She has previously written about testimonial literature in Latin America and the judicial activism of international courts and its local political effects.
