I'm a highly motivated individual with the sole aim of developing better health behaviours towards breast and cervical cancers in Northern Nigeria. Unlike the developed world, developing countries such as Nigeria lack adequate health facilities and services to manage cancers. Therefore, early detection through screening is very essential for us to decrease the rising morbidity and mortality rates. However, various sociodemographic and psychosocial factors act as barriers to screening uptake. My research is focussed on identifying these barriers and recommending practical strategies to tackle them.
