After graduating from Medical School in 1980, I had specialist training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. I was awarded the Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons in 1987 and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in 1988. I had subspecialty training in Gynaecological Oncology at the University Hospital of South Manchester, Withington, UK from 1990 to 1991 and was a Research Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA from 1993 to 1997. I have been a Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the University of Ibadan since 1997. I was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists of the United Kingdom in 2017. I have previously served as Provost of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (2006-10) and as President of the West African College of Surgeons (2015 -17). I was elected into the Nigerian Academy of Science in 2012.
