Professor Hayes is a muscle and exercise physiologist with over 20 years of research experience in human trials and mechanistic animal studies. He is currently the Director of the Australian Institute for Musculoskeletal Science. His research focus can be summarised under the banner 'Muscle Mass Matters' and its focus is looking at various dietary supplements and exercise regimes and their effect on muscle function in health, ageing and disease.
