Dr. Alba Torrents de la Peña is a postdoctoral fellow at Dr. Andrew B. Ward Lab, Dept. of Integrative Structural and Computational Biology at the Scripps Research Institute (CA, USA). Her research has been focused on structure-based vaccine design of HIV and influenza, combining the fields of immunology, virology and structural biology. She received her Ph.D. from the Department of Virology at the University of Amsterdam, where she worked with Dr. Rogier W. Sanders. Her current work is on vaccine design and designing enzymes that can detect and degrade micro- and nanoplastics.
