Alex Bhathal is a social and environmental justice advocate and qualified social worker with over 30 years' experience in child and family services. She has worked in child protection and out of home care services in two jurisdictions.

She is a lecturer in Social Work and Social Policy with La Trobe University and most recently worked with SNAICC - National Voice for Our Children as National Manager of Family Matters, the campaign to end the over-representation and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in child protection.
