Alexander N Hasenstab

PhD researcher, University of Portsmouth

I am security risk management practitioner, and the focus of my work has primarily been on security risk management in the international humanitarian aid, development and peacekeeping sector in risk environments.

I also have strong background and skills in policing and law enforcement (including in conducting large criminal investigations), both in Germany and abroad in international advisory and capacity building as well as executive civilian police capacities.

Due to my current and previous professional engagements, I am also engaged in conflict and (geo)political and violent extremism related research and analysis. I worked in Central and Eastern Europe, Africa, Central and Southern Asia.

I am currently reading part-time a second doctorate, which focuses on security trainings for aid and development workers.
