Senior Lecturer in Retail and Consumer Behaviour, Manchester Metropolitan University

Amna is a Senior Lecturer in Consumer Behaviour and Retailing, aside from her academic work she reguarly appears in National media.

Why do I teach?
She has written, teaches and leads the Consumer Behaviour units for undergraduate marketing degrees and commercial programmes. She contributes original case material based on her unique academic and commercial experiences. She has strong ties with retail education, apprenticeships, executive education, teaching retail managers from Tesco, Asda, Booths, The Co-op, McDonalds, Halfords the Post Office. Amna has taught marketing at a variety of institutions in countries such as Singapore. She regularly presents her work at international conferences.

Media Engagement : Amna's regularly provide comments to media (TV, Radio, Print) on consumer behaviour, consumer psychology, retail, supermarkets, the high streets, on/offline retailing.

She was awarded a prestigious industrial scholarship in collaboration with AstraZeneca pharmaceuticals, to undertake a PhD. During her PhD Amna undertook field research in Shanghai for six months.

Prior to her PhD, Amna successfully completed a master degree in Marketing (MSc) at Manchester Business School with a distinction.

She has an undergraduate degree in Business Management from Manchester Metropolitan University Business School. As part of her undergraduate degree she undertook a 12-month E-Marketing internship with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals.
