Amy Davis

My research focuses on American animation history (especially the Disney Studio), representations of gender roles in US animation and popular culture, and various issues connected with both Hollywood cinema and American cultural history. Recently, I published a book on representations of masculinity in Disney’s feature animation (Handsome Heroes & Vile Villains: Men in Disney's Feature Animation), as well as working on a longer-term project on the Disney theme parks.
