Dr. Rachow is a principle investigator and one of the network coordinators in the TB Sequel Project at the Division of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine, Medical Center of the University of Munich (LMU), Germany. She oversees activities related to the overall coordination of the TB Sequel Network and the conceptualization of research. She is one of the leading scientist of the TB cohort studying the long term pulmonary outcome of TB patients.
Dr. Rachow is a specialist physician in the field of Internal Medicine and Tropical Medicine. As researcher at the Division of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine she conducted numerous TB intervention studies and trials in Africa and Eastern Europe, mainly in the field of new TB diagnostics and markers in different populations. She has also done pilot research into the long term outcome of TB disease with specific emphasize on lung outcome together with researchers at the INS in Maputo.
