I'm a social researcher who works mainly for my own research and analytics companies (iNZight Analytics Ltd and Mātau Analytics Ltd) but I also teach in the Statistics Department at the University of Auckland. My work is mainly focused on social and health inequity or making statistical information resources more useful to decision makers beyond government. I'm a deputy director of Healthier Lives National Science Challenge, a board member for the International Sociological Association Research Committee on Racism, Nationalism, Indigeneity and Ethnicity as well as a founding member of both Te Mana Raraunga and the Virtual Health Information Network. He uri ahau no Ngāti Apa, Rangitāne me Te Rarawa.
