Dr Urbina-Garcia is a Chartered Psychologist in the UK and an international child/educational psychologist having completed his PhD in the Psychology in Education Research Centre from the University of York (UK). He has worked as an Associate Professor in psychology for over 18 years in three continents (Asia, Europe & America) teaching and conducting research in the fields of Psychology, Early Childhood and Education and is the recipient of Teaching Excellence Awards.
Dr. Urbina's research findings have been disseminated widely in world-class international conferences (APA: American Psychological Association; BPS British Psychological Society among others) including US, Greece, Thailand, Spain, England, Mexico, Singapore, Scotland, Holland, Italy etc., and his work has been published in international peer-reviewed journals. Dr Urbina's primary research interests focus on the preschool transition, listening to children’s voices and children’s/teachers’ well-being/happiness. He has also shared his work in the field of teacher training with the Regional Bureau for Education in Latin America and the Caribbean; (OREALC/UNESCO Santiago) with a view to establishing a line of work to improve Latin American teachers’ wellbeing.
