Research fellow, Faculty of Engineering, Queensland University of Technology

I am a researcher at the Queensland University of Technology and an affiliated researcher at the Stockholm Resilience Centre. Before this I worked at the Centre of Excellence for Environmental Decisions at The University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, and the Luc Hoffman Institute. I have previously held positions with private industry. I have a PhD in Conservation Science and a Masters in Environmental Management from the University of Queensland (Australia), and an Engineering degree (Operations Research) from Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia).

My key research interest is in developing an understanding of the social factors influencing environmental outcomes. I do this by linking network science, environmental science and social science. My interdisciplinary training allows me to understand environmental problems as complex systems of interactions between humans and nature, and to analyse these interactions using network models.

I work on multiple projects in the areas of governance, collaboration and organisational networks, and stakeholder values and perspectives in environmental decision making.
