Professor of Freshwater Ecology, University of Canterbury

I'm Professor of Freshwater Ecology and Deputy Head of the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Canterbury (@UCNZ) in Christchurch, New Zealand. I'm a member of the Ako Aotearoa Academy of Tertiary Teaching Excellence and co-leader of the Freshwater Ecology Research Group (www.ferg.org.nz). My research has combined investigation of food webs with spatial analysis, often experimentally, to reveal how environmental change affects freshwater systems. Topics have ranged from low flows and invaders to restoration (e.g., www.carex.org.nz), and mudfish in rainforest pools. I'm now working on global change in alpine freshwater systems, especially braided rivers
