Annette Van den Bosch

Adjunct research fellow, Monash Asia Institute, Monash University

Dr. Annette Van den Bosch Ph. D. thesis was on The Art Market Since 1940, awarded by the University of Sydney in 1990. Her book The Australian Art World: Aesthetics in a Global Market published by Allen and Unwin in 2006 consolidated her continuing research on the arts industry, arts policy and arts education. She was a Visiting Scholar in the Centre for the Arts Administration, Columbia University in 1996 leading to book chapters and articles on arts policy and funding in the United States, Canada and Australia. Her model of global market effects led to a commission by the Encyclopaedia of Global Studies for an essay on Aesthetics, to be published by Sage online in 2011. Dr. Van den Bosch also studies issues of authenticity, Intellectual property and artists careers in two recent articles, On Australian Aboriginal Art and Vietnamese Art for the Journal of Arts Management, Law and Society, Volume 39, numbers 2 and 3 .
