Anthony Kaziboni

Head of Research, Institute for the Future of Knowledge (IFK), University of Johannesburg

Dr Anthony Kaziboni is a Director of Research at the University of Johannesburg’s (UJ) Institute for the Future of Knowledge (IFK). As a political and critical social justice activist broadly interested in how power is conceptualised and theorised, its role in society, and the culminating patterns of social change, Dr Kaziboni is interested in asymmetrical power relations. He researches hydropolitics, migration and social inequalities with the aim of influencing policy. He is a member of the South African Sociological Association (SASA), the Water Institute of Southern Africa (WISA), and the International Sociological Association (ISA)'s Research Committee 46. In 2018 he received the prestigious Outstanding Early Career Award in Clinical Sociology from ISA’s RC46. He has [co]authored publications in accredited journals, newspaper articles, and book chapters, locally and internationally. He is an Editor of the Clinical Sociology Review.
