Antonio García Martínez

Catedrático del Departamento de Máquinas y Motores Térmicos, Universitat Politècnica de València

As a Full Professor and Senior Researcher at the Universitat Politècnica de Valencia, my research has focused on combustion optimization, Low-Temperature Combustion topics, fleet hybridization assessment, and batteries technology over the past 20 years. These days, my major role involves mitigating and understanding the thermal runaway phenomenon in LIBs. I lead a group of 15 individuals, including Ph.D.'s, professors, postdocs, and technicians, who collaborate with research laboratories, OEMs, and oil companies from the EU, USA, and Asia. Our collective efforts have resulted in the publication of more than 130 peer-reviewed articles, with an Scopus H-index of 40, and the supervision of over 20 projects. In recognition of my contributions, I was awarded the Forest R. McFarland in SAE Detroit in 2018. I also serve as the Spanish representative on the International Energy Agency for Combustion TCP and as Editor-in-Chief for two Elsevier journals: e-prime (Advances in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and Energy Engineering) and Transportation in Engineering.
