Anya Phelan

Dr. Anya Phelan is a Senior Lecturer and Discipline lead in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Department of Business Strategy and Innovation within the Griffith Business School. Dr Phelan’s research focuses on the circular economy, entrepreneurship, innovation, and their overarching social impact in regional areas. She examines how entrepreneurial ventures help address complex social and environmental challenges, such as plastic pollution. She firmly believes that community driven solutions can be instrumental catalysts in the global shift towards a circular economy. Anya is a CI at the ARC Centre for Bioplastics and Biocomposites and the Solving Plastic Waste Cooperative Research Centre. Anya was also part of the CSIRO Ending Plastic Waste mission through the plastic innovation Accelerator – Plastics Innovation Hub Indonesia.
