Arjun Rajkhowa

My thesis focuses on emergent social movements in South Asia. It looks at the manner in which the media have covered, responded to, assessed and framed significant emergent social and political processes such as human rights campaigns and anti-corruption campaigns. This research is situated alongside studies of the public sphere and will contribute to an understanding of the role of civil society discourses within contentious politics. My research interests include human rights in Asia, postcolonial politics, and gender and sexuality.
